Ambleside Farm is located just north of Onslow.   It is a growing vegetable and fruit farm.

Our guiding principles are that the best food is always produced locally in accordance with the seasons.

We don't want to live with or eat chemicals so we don’t expect you to.  What you see is what you can eat.

Our produce is grown utilizing organic principles and sustainable agricultural practices.  We compost, rotate crops, use green manure (living mulch) and mulch to sustain our soil.  To protect the environment we only use OMRI approved sprays only when necessary.

During the spring and early summer we grow spinach, lettuce, radishes, other greens, peas, and broccoli.

During our main summer crop season we grow berries, eggplant, peppers, leeks, onions, garlic, carrots, beets, kale, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, zucchini, beans, cucumbers, butternut squash and melons.

Our featured items are heirloom tomatoes—            Rose, Brandywine and Amish Paste

During the winter we grow greens in an unheated greenhouse.

Do you know where your food comes from?

Most fresh fruits and vegetables travel over 1300 miles from farm to table. These foods can spend as many as seven to fourteen days in transit before they arrive at the supermarket. Many of the varieties of these fruits and vegetables are grown for their ability to withstand harvesting equipment and extended travel.

Doesn’t that sound yummy?

Most of the varieties that we grow are heirloom and open pollinated varieties.  These have stood the test of time for maximum flavor!  Our produce is sold within 24 hours of being harvested.  It is picked at the height of ripeness which ensures exceptional flavor.

You pay for taste, not transportation and packaging!
